Mahsa Nejad is a candidate for the Master of Laws under the supervision of Professor Catherine Régis. As for her thesis topic, she has a strong interest in mental health. Graduate of the Université de Montréal in Civil Law and a lawyer since 2010, after 3 years of private practice, she began a career with an international insurer. Since 2013, mental health has figured prominently in cases she reviews every day as a disability adjudicator in the insurance field. Since mental health is one of the most common causes of disability in modern society, it is a subject in which insurers are devoting a number of studies of different types to better understand the issues leading to optimal recovery. The subject of her thesis is therefore mental health in national and international law.
