Marco Laverdière
Director General and Secretary of the Ordre des optométristes du Québec (Quebec college of optometrists)
Marco Laverdière has been a member of the Barreau du Québec (Quebec bar association) since 1994 and holds a post-graduate degree in fundamental rights from University of Nantes and a Masters in Health Law from University of Sherbrooke. He initially worked for the Council for the Protection of the Sick, and then joined the Ordre des optométristes du Québec, where has been secretary and director general since 1999. Since 2002, he has also been teaching in the Health Law and Policy Masters Program at University of Sherbrooke and has been a research associate with the Canada Research Chair in Collaborative Culture in Health Law and Policy since 2014. Lastly, he is involved in different working groups and forums within the Quebec professional system and is the author of various texts dealing with health law and professional law.
